Free image software - FastStone Image Resizer and JAlbum

The Grenoble Cycling Pages have been online for over five years now, and there are two things that an be time consuming when adding content.

The first is resizing of images and adding text such as copyright information to the photos. The Faststone website has a great, and free, piece of software called the Faststone Photo Resizer. You can resize, add watermarks, create new names, and run photos through in batches. This is what I now use to add my name to the bottom of all my photos.

The second time consuming job is to create a gallery for the web, and JAlbum is another free piece of software. It also does a better job than a lot of software you have to buy. It uses Java to create the gallery, and has more than enough different styles to keep you happy. It is also extremely customisable.

Of course, when you've added your name on your photos and created your gallery, you need to upload it to a webserver, but that's another story.
